“Everyone knows how it ended. But this is the long overdue inside story, masterfully told.” – Alan Pattullo, Scotsman

AK86: Two shots in the heart of Scottish football

Ebook Review (Courtesy of Amazon)

Format: Kindle Edition
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about the events of 30 years ago. I was playing snooker at the time and heard the result on
sports report on the radio. As English fans we were disappointed for the underdog. Reading the book I was still hoping
for a different ending, it is very evocative. To conclude, a very professional book.
Format: Kindle Edition
Brilliant read and a must for any true football fan. Goes beyond the standard story and gives you an eye witness account
from fans of all teams involved that incredible afternoon as well as players journalists etc. Unlikely Scottish football
will see a day like that again anytime soon with a provincial club on brink of a fairy tale
Format: Kindle Edition
An excellent read. I was too young to know about the build up to this game but this book perfectly describes the lead
up to this game and the events that happened afterwards.

3rd May 1986: fans at Dens Park, Ibrox, Easter Road and Love Street watch the action unfold with transistor radios pressed to their ears, desperate for the news that would decide the destination of that season’s league championship.

Albert Kidd makes a rare and late appearance on the stage and tears the show apart. In seven special minutes Albert elevates himself to the status of cult hero at two clubs he would never play for and folk devil at a third.

‘AK 86: Two Shots In The Heart Of Scottish Football’ sees Albert speak in greater depth than ever before about his role in the most talked about day in Scottish football history and how it has changed his life.

With contributions from players and fans of Celtic, Dundee, Heart of Midlothian, Hibernian, Rangers and St Mirren, every side of the incredible story is explored as the events are placed in the context of the wider revolution taking place within the national game.

Thirty years on AK 86 sifts through the rubble of an explosive day with rumour and counter-rumour, controversy and drama, a day that gave rise to conspiracy theories, delirium, and broken hearts.
